Out the old, In the new

Lots of reflection going on here. Not because I'm sitting by a mirror or a clear lake. Because it's time to ring out the old year and ring in the new.

I've sat with 2010 awhile--thought about the ways I met my resolution, recognized specific turning points, and considered the significance of my personal Word of the Year (Vibrant!). A big Thank You to the Universe for these meetings and turns and significances. Seriously.

I've sat with 2011 a bit, too. You know how people casually tell you to "Take care" when they say goodbye? Well, a few months ago, I met a wise woman who I take very seriously, and she looked thoughtfully into my eyes and told me, quite uncasually, in her kind, intentional voice: "I can see you have these depths. Take care of them." I absolutely loved her advice, and so my guiding thought for the coming year is Taking Care.

It means allowing my own nature and sacred depths to become a part of my every day. It is a reminder to honor my journey, listen to my intuition, nurture myself in all areas, serve my family, take practical steps toward my goals, and stay connected to Joy.

Your loved ones give you gifts for Hanukkah or Christmas. For New Year's, I believe in giving yourself a gift in the form of a resolution, guiding word, quote, affirmation, cheer, song, or whatever will inspire you for the next twelve months and permanently enrich your life. (To ring in the new, give yourself a gift that rings true!)

Happy New Year, dear friends, and Take Care.

I love your "Take Care." It's a wonderful thing.

It does, however, remind me of a bit by a very funny man named Brian Regan.

Halfway though telling his friends to "take care" he changed his mind and decided to say "good luck" and it came out, "Take Luck!"

I wish for you to take care and take luck and take good care of the luck that is good when you take it.
